BOLO - Upcoming Books from John Piper

Be on lookout for these upcoming books from John Piper.

First up is 5 Points: Toward a Deeper Understanding of God's Grace. Here's the blurb:
Grace is the heart of God to do you good when you deserve it least. But do we really know how deeply we don't deserve it? Only God can reveal that to us. He does it through the Bible. And when he does, the wonders of his grace explode with brightness as never before. These Five Points are about how Christians come into being, and how we are kept forever. It reaches back into times past when we were freely chosen. It reaches forward into the future when we will be safe and happy forever. It reaches down into the mysteries of the work of Christ, purchasing the gift of faith for all God's children. And it reaches into the human soul, glimpsing the mysteries of the Spirit's work as he conquers all our rebellion and makes us willing captives of King Jesus. Piper believes that our experience of grace grows with our grasp of God's gracious work. He invites us to come with him on this quest.
It's out later this month from Christian Focus.

Also, coming in May from Crossway is another contribution to Piper's series of short biographies, The Swans are Not Silent. The latest addition is called Seeing Beauty and Saying Beautifully: The Power of Poetic Effort in the work of George Herbert, George Whitfield, and C. S. Lewis. In Seeing Beauty
Best-selling author and renowned pastor John Piper speaks to the power of artistic expression in this book about three influential Christians whose work exhibited a commitment to truth and and a love for beauty. In the sixth volume in the popular The Swans Are Not Silent series, Piper helps us appreciate the work of poets, artists, and writers by exploring how God has used them throughout history. Whether discussing George Herbert’s poetry, George Whitefield’s preaching, or C. S. Lewis’s writing, this book will lead Christians to rediscover the importance of vigorous creative effort for loving God and spreading the good news about Jesus.
Piper is also a contributor to this month's From Heaven He Came and Sought Her: Definite Atonement in Historical, Biblical, Theological, and Pastoral Perspective. Publisher Crossway says:
There is a palpable sense of confusion—and sometimes even embarrassment—with regard to so-called limited atonement today, pointing to the need for thoughtful engagement with this controversial doctrine. Incorporating contributions from a host of respected theologians, From Heaven He Came and Sought Her stands as the first comprehensive resource on definite atonement as it examines the issue from historical, biblical, theological, and pastoral perspectives. Offering scholarly insights for those seeking a thorough and well-researched discussion, this book will encourage charitable conversations as it winsomely defends this foundational tenet of Reformed theology.
And, finally, coming from Multnomah in January is A Godward Heart: Treasuring the God Who Loves You. In this devotional, Piper helps the reader to
Discover how satisfying a quiet one-on-one conversation with your heavenly Father can be! Revealing a deep understanding of God, Piper's inspiring devotional will help you constantly renew your personal relationship with your Creator. Your faith will grow as you explore everything from salvation and God's glory to the daily decisions of life.
